Q01: When did you start drawing?
A: Maybe when i learned how to use a pencil. I've drawn since i remember, starting out from princesses at 1st grade (cuz i was a Disney girl) then, Anime came to my world
Q02: Which hand do you use for drawing?
A: Right, as most of the people
Q03: Which is easier to draw - male or female?
A: Female, I suck at drawing guys. Although is soon to tell: i started to draw males very recently, like half a year ago I think...Why? because i was to scared of them turning out wrong. Yeah, silly i know
Q04: Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair?
A; For me, Long. Since childhood, i've always loved it, but i am crazy about short hair lately. I think they both have their pros and cons. For example, short is more difficult to shape since long hair is pure flowness. In the other hand, about coloring, short hair takes almost no time!
Q05: Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?
A: To the left, to the left! lol
Q06: Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view?
A: Side view, Front is hard cuz of balancing the items size in the face
Q07: Do you have problems in drawing?
A: Actually, my biggest problem is procrastination, i am always looking for challenges though! For me, the most difficult part is shaping torso and omg those darn toes, i hate them! i have to practice practice practice more!
Q08: What do you like to draw?
A: Anything i feel like to, sometimes i draw how i'm feeling, sometimes i draw my favorite characters as you have seen in my gallery. As i like to improve myself, i often draw different but natural poses (you haven't seen my sketchbook, it's all in there
Q09: Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?
A: Traditional, i only use photoshop to revive all my drawings because my scanner kills them! I'd like to learn how to draw digitally though
Q10: Where do you start drawing from?
A: I think i start like most of the people: with the head of the character.
1. face; 2.eyes; 3. nose and mouth; 4.ears and hair.
First of all i do a general and quick sketch to locate things in the paper: I start drawing some basic shapes as ovals, rectangles and such; second, i start to give the shape i want, then the clean-up(the most tedious part), then the inking and finally the coloring.
Q11: What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
A: I HAVE to pay more attention to the lineart inking. I'm really absent minded and i could screw things up if i am not careful...
Q12: What do you keep in mind when you do lineart?
A: Well, it really have to be cleaned for me (i am to slow in cleaning it, though i like sketchy appearance, it wouldn't look good as a finished piece if i leave those unnecessary lines)
Q13: Any tips for coloring/shading?
A: Well i'm not an expert, but when i was a little girl i loved to color! i was always trying new methods at it, and one thing i learned is to combine different tools. I usually draw with markers and color pencils together, and of course you have to keep in mind basic shading techniques (i don't have a lot of knowledge in that area but i try my best every time) in which you have a light source and shadow against it. A good way to improve is looking for some tutorials here in Deviantart
Q14: How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
A: Varies a lot! it can be either so fast or rather slow, depends on my humor (Inner Vane: who am i kidding? It usually takes a lot haha)
Q15: What music do you listen to while you draw?
A: Sometimes I listen my favorite songs (i really don't have genre preference), sometimes i don't listen anything at all. When i do, i just put random mode in my ipod...
Q16: How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
A: It depends on my humor, or in the music I'm listening or in the art i see around, however i don't NOT COPY anything cuz i strongly dislike that and I'm looking for being original. If you see something similar out there is merely a coincidence.
Q17: Your favorite drawing utensils?
A: My Hand! lol pencils, mechanical pencil, color pencils and markers
Q18: Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?
A: I think i like my drawings to be balanced in color, not to have a dominant one. In the other hand, i'd like to try that way, i think my first one could be golden tones and the second blue ones... as you can see i like both cold and warm colors
Q19: Your favorite style(s)?
A: Anime/Manga and realism. I'm trying to make my own style between those two.
Q20: Are you satisfied with your current art?
A: I am NEVER satisfied with my pieces, i think that's a good thing cuz it helps me to improve, right?
Q21: What kind of artist are you aiming for?
A: I'd like to combine anime art with realistic one as i said before and hopefully, to make rich backgrounds with some good architecture. I hope one day i could accomplish it.
